SCHOOL Torchbearer School
Peggy A. Grant, Principal
Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer break, overflowing with opportunities to learn and grow. As I undertake this new and exciting year, I am overjoyed that you have entrusted your children’s education to us. We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially. It is our goal to create a stimulating and safe learning environment that engages students individually. In addition, we need and welcome your support and cooperation. Parental involvement is crucial to the academic success of our students!
Evergreen Elementary School has an excellent teaching and support staff with an abundance of knowledge. The staff is dedicated to building a safe, compassionate community of lifelong learners who are academically successful, creative, critical thinkers and problem solvers. We believe high expectations yield academic transformation for all students. We continue to be committed to doing our part in ensuring your child achieves academic excellence, and we look forward to working with you to ensure that our goal is achieved.
“Every child deserves a champion-an individual who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be." Rita F. Pierson. As the leader of our Evergreen Elementary School Family, I strongly believe that every child can learn and achieve the highest level of academic success with the proper preparation and support. Parents, you are your child’s first and most important teacher. You know your child better than anyone else and we invite you to work in partnership with your child’s classroom teacher. You have rich insight into your child’s unique needs, talents and interests. Please feel free to share any information that you believe will help us increase your child’s success. Teachers have a unique perspective on your child, they will see your child as a member of the class and watch as they interact with peers, face the challenge of new learning, ask questions, and solve problems. Parents and teachers perspectives are critical to ensure that your child’s time at Evergreen Elementary is exciting and rewarding.
We are looking forward to an exciting year at Evergreen Elementary School! I look forward to meeting each of you as we “Rally the Whole Village.”
